A safe place, built by hand and heart

K9 Sanctuary was founded by Lenuța Nedelcu, who has poured her own life and savings into giving abandoned dogs a second chance in a region where too many are left behind. Vrancea County has struggled with shelter neglect and cruelty — we exist to be the opposite.

Every day the dogs get fresh food and clean water, and are let out to run — with someone always there to make sure they’re safe, and to give them the love they were denied.

Our mission
To rescue, care for and responsibly rehome every dog — with full transparency, real veterinary care, and dignity for each animal.

Help us rebuild the shelter

Our dogs arrive from the worst conditions — many almost dying — and they get better here, every single day. But the shelter itself needs serious work, and they deserve better food and warmer, safer spaces. That’s what your help builds.

Better food & fresh water

Full bowls and clean water every single day — the foundation of bringing a rescued dog back to health.

🔨

Repair & rebuild

Stronger fencing, warmer kennels, proper drainage and shade — safe, dry spaces for every dog through winter and summer.

💊

Vet care & recovery

Vaccinations, treatment and the time it takes to bring a dog from half-dead to healthy, happy and ready for a family.

Romanian taxpayer? Redirect 3.5% — it’s free.

You can send 3.5% of income tax you already owe to the shelter at no cost to you, through Form 230. It doesn’t cost you a cent — it just tells the state to send part of your tax to the dogs. Deadline for 2025 income: 25 May 2026.
